I adored her, because she was a wild woman! She was a sex worker Priestess, a Scribe Priestess!

Her words were the Balm in Gilead for women everywhere. She was inspirational as HERSELF; because she was herself at all times and phases of her life. I know we remember her in her Crone Glory and we appreciate all her Crone Jewels. But i remember the Naked Dancer, the Howling Wombn, the Sexual Explorer, the student, the teacher, the mother, the lover. The all that she is and was.

It pained me, recently, to see people using Maya to shame Rihanna. It pains me that we deem some women "evil" while we hail others as "Heros." Double it when those "heros" have done/said/worn/lived the same shyt that the "evil" woman is.

We are all sluts in patriarchy/to patriarchy. This is the default judgment against us simply for being wombn. Let us release the tensions around this and embrace the knowing.

Maya, i too know why the caged bird Sings. And her only joy will come from song. Many pieces of me re-turned when she departed this life. I have felt more settled in my passion, in my Sacredness, in my expressions. I have been flirting with expressions, playing with how i express myself in dress, writing, speaking, being! It is a powerful and transformative thing! To explore yourself, to push boundaries, to be a TRAILBLAZER in your own rite. These are powers! These things belong to Godis! Greater is SHE who lives in me, than he that lives in the world.

Blessed be the Rock of my Salvation! Vanity is Salvation; look to the mirror. Look at yourself! When we see what is worthless vs what is of Tremendous Value, we win! When we put value in that which is worthless, we lose.
